May Jay has dropped a new song called “Holiday.” A self-written track, it was produced and engineered by Freshy. It is a follow-up to his 2021 album 4:19 which housed singles like “Straight Up,” “Right Bill,” and “Like You Do Mistake” amongst others.
Born Vincent Nnamdi Adolphus in Portharcourt, May Jay is an indigene of Imo state and the second of five children. He’s been a music enthusiast since the 2000s and began his professional career in the 2010s. An independent artist, May Jay’s music can be primarily described as Afrofusion—which combines Afrocentric melodies with Jamaican elements—and is primed for local and global consumption.
His new song “Holiday” fuses Afropop vibes with Dancehall influences and is a ready-made party banger. May Jay put it plainly,
“Holiday is a feel-good anthem about a girl who dreams of exploring the world and living her best life on luxurious holidays. But there’s a twist—she only gets to experience it all when she brings the right energy and attitude. It’s a playful reminder that the vibe you give determines the experience you get!”
This new release adds to MayJay’s momentum as he works on new projects.
