Mavin Records singer-songwriter Magixx has officially released his highly anticipated debut album, I Dream in Colors, a 13-track project that further cements his place as one of Afrobeats’ most promising voices.
A deeply introspective and emotionally charged body of work, I Dream in Colors is a sonic journey through Magixx’s world—one shaped by familial bonds, the paranoia of betrayal, and an unyielding search for meaning. The album features a single collaboration on the ninth track, Vibration, which sees Magixx join forces with rapper Jeriq for a dynamic fusion of melody and grit.
“I want this album to be remembered as something that helped people through the course of their lives,” says Magixx. “Something that gave people hope, something that changed people’s lives, something that made people go on in life and become something. I want them to look back and say, ‘Damn, this album is a testament.’ For me, it’s a testament to preaching positivity.”
Born Alexander Adelabu, Magixx approaches each song on I Dream in Colors with the precision of a storyteller, blending Afro-fusion elements with heartfelt lyricism. “I made the album intending to make it sound the way it does,” he explains. “Every song on the album was intentional. I Dream in Colors simply means I dream big. It means the things I want for myself: the greater lights, the stadiums, the accolades, the reach, the global domination—I see it all, and I’m coming for everything.”
With this debut, Magixx shares his artistic vision and sets the stage for a promising future in global music. I Dream in Colors is now available on all major streaming platforms.
